The Zemská brána Nature Reserve is located in the Orlické Mountains along the Divoká Orlice River, from the border with Poland to Klášterec nad Orlicí. It was proclaimed in 1987 and covers 88.2 hectares at an altitude of 570 to 650 metres above sea level. The main reason for the protection is the boulder-like riverbed of the Divoká Orlice, which has created a deeply incised valley. On the steep slopes of the valley you will find interesting rock formations, popular among climbers. The name "Zemská brána" refers to the place where the river, which forms the state border, turns inland and forms an imaginary gateway to the Czech Republic.

The forests in this reserve consist mainly of spruce, fir and beech trees. The best-preserved stands line the river and include rare plants such as the Austrian chamois and the variegated honeysuckle. The fauna includes the common crow, the water vole, the black stork, the common fox, the European deer, the red deer, the wild boar, the great snipe and the black woodpecker. Occasionally, mouflons also appear here.

One of the dominant features of the area is the historic stone bridge over the Divoká Orlice River, built in 1900-1903. The bridge was completely reconstructed in 2004-2005, preserving its original sandstone stones. The adjacent car park has been extended and access to the nature trail has been improved.

The Earth Gate offers great opportunities for hiking and relaxation. There is a blue-blazed path along the river with a Smuggler's Footbridge and a nature trail that showcases local attractions. Visitors can see pre-war fortifications, Ledříček Rock, a gorge under the bridge suitable for paddlers and rock formations for climbers. Cycling is also possible in the area, although the stretch between the stone bridge and the Paserák footbridge on the left bank is impassable by bike.
